Dazzle camouflage was a method use din World War I to confuse German U-boat officers when peering through a periscope. The use of stark zigzag lines and geometric forms was the brain child of Norman Wilkinson, a painter/illustrator/graphic designer, who became a Royal Navy volunteer reserve lieutenant.

The design was created by Jason Kulp and Indubitable Design assisted with the installation.
